Joe Estrada
Joe Estrada, native of Austin, TX, is a Music Education major at the University of Texas Permian Basin. His musical journey began at 12 years old when his family gifted him a drum set. This was the start of a passion for percussion.

His brother introduced him to metal music, and in high school, Joe formed a band Circle of Misery with his friend. This project evolved over the years into the band Morgan Hill, who gigged around the Austin area until 2022.

Joe began his love for jazz drumming when he was apart of a student-led jazz combo at UTPB called BAJ. He has since participated in the UTPB Jazz Kettle, performing with the Aquarena Springs Symphonic Band in San Marcos, and formed a new jazz combo titled Combo No. 3.

Joe also plays guitar, a magical instrument he uses when writing out his musical ideas. He participated in Austin Classical Guitar in high school, and participated in the UTPB Guitar Ensemble under the instruction of Paul Sanchez.

Joe has taught in William B. Travis High School and Andrews High School as a marching band front ensemble tech.

Aside from teaching, Joe loves to compose music. Check out his work here.
